When you think of ballroom dancing what is the first thing that pops into your mind?
Maybe its a waltz, or a room full of people slow dancing, a couple doing the Cha-Cha or even Dancing with the Stars show. Ballroom dancing is that and more! When Ballroom dancing, you need to know a few basic things; First, that it is a partnered dance. So, you will need someone to dance with. (If you’re planning on taking lessons, there will be other folks who will need a partner and instructors who will also partner up with you!) So don’t worry if you don’t have a partner right away.
There are many styles of dance; such as, International Standard and Latin, and American Smooth and Rhythm.
The customary Standard dances are:

Viennese Waltz
The International Latin dances include:
Cha-Cha
Rumba
Samba
Paso Doble
Jive
The Smooth Dances Include:

East Coast Swing
Mambo
Bolero
