ENRICHMENT COURSES FOR PROFESSIONAL DANCE INSTRUCTOR DEVELOPMENT
THE COURSES
Dance Teacher certification - For those wanting to take their first certification as a Dance Teacher. This is appropriate for those teaching who want to get certified or for experienced dancers (professionals or serious students) who would like to be introduced to teaching Social Dancing
Professional Certification - For teachers wanting a more challenging path to Professional Certification.
Melanie Dale will be teaching The Foundation Course as preparation for Dance Teacher Certification.
American Style Foundation Course: Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Rumba, Cha Cha, East Coast Swing
The course includes 16 hours as follows:
12 hours of training on the figures and practice teaching
4 hours of dance practice observed and critiqued by Melanie and Lori.

BENEFITS OF THE COURSE
The Foundation Course gives you the confidence to teach beginners.
If you take the exam, the added confidence knowing you are certified and recognized by a national teaching organization will springboard your career.
Lori Woods-Gay will be teaching a Course as preparation for the Associate Level in International Ballroom.
International Style Ballroom: Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Tango
The course includes 16 hours of instruction:
12 hours of training on the figures
4 hours of dance routines and practice observed and critiqued by Melanie and Lori
Ballroom book and practice questions and answers
BENEFITS OF THE COURSE
Ballroom represents the foundation of all dance techniques.
Knowledge of Ballroom Theory will allow an easy transition for the studies of American Smooth which expands to a variety of Positions and Holds for many of the same figures.
This knowledge will give you the solid foundation needed to progress towards a Judging License
EXAM INFORMATION
Taking the Foundation Course or Associate Bronze Ballroom Course does not guarantee that you will be ready to pass these exams. Passing an exam will depend on your individual ability. Therefore, scheduling the exam will be optional and will incur additional costs.
The Foundation test will be with Dance Vision Dance Society.
If you feel ready, you can schedule your exam with Lori for Sunday July 6 by appointment based upon availability.
OTHER COSTS
FOR THE FOUNDATION COURSE EXAM:
$199 for one year membership in Dance Vision (includes an entire library of dance training with some of the best in the industry (hours of dance instruction in all styles)
$125 payable to the examiner Lori
(1-hour exam).
These exams can also be scheduled in the future when you feel prepared (Live or via Zoom)
The Association Ballroom Course can be taken with your choice of any Member Organization that is recognized by the National Dance Council of American (NDCA).
Fees vary from organization to organization; however, all require a Membership Fee. And 2 hours are payable
to the Examiner at their standard
hourly rate.
These exams may be scheduled live or via Zoom. Also, A Step to Gold International may host an examiner by requests.

Social Thursday, July 3rd 7pm til 9pm
Friday and Saturday
Training- 10:00pm to 1:00 pm
Break for lunch - 1:00pm to 2:30pm
( Lunch Included in the Ballroom )
Training - 2:30pm to 5:30pm
Break for Dinner on your own -
5:30pm to 7:00pm
Training - 7:00pm to 9:00 pm

LORI WOODS-GAY IS ON THE NDCA INVIGILATION COMMITTEE AND THE CREDENTIALS AND EXAMINATIONS BOARD. SHE INVIGILATES AND JUDGES REGULARLY AT MANY NDCA EVENTS AND EXAMINES MANY PROFESSIONALS FOR THEIR CERTIFICATIONS AND JUDGING QUALIFICATIONS.
MELANIE DALE IS A TOP TEACHER AND SUCCESSFUL STUDIO OWNER OF A STEP TO GOLD INTERNATIONAL BALLROOM FOR 23 YEARS. SHE HAS AN ISTD ASSOCIATE DEGREE IN BALLROOM, IS CERTIFIED IN WHEELCHAIR BALLROOM DANCE, AND BROUGHT ARGENTINE TANGO AND THE BALLROOM TEACHERS COLLEGE TO NORTH CAROLINA.
The cost for each course is $600
