Meet Our Instructors
Jeff was the previous owner and director of Classic Ballroom Dance Studio in New Jersey for nine years. He choreographed for and performed in hundreds of showcases and has been teaching for over 16 years. Jeff is also an experienced competitor and has placed first numerous times. He has studied dance and teaching of dance with Chris Thompson, Lori Woods Gay, John Nyemchek, Daphne Connaliff and Michael Keihm. Dance and the teaching of Ballroom dance has been his greatest passion for years and he expects that to continue! Besides dancing on a ballroom floor Jeff likes to “dance” on water, kite boarding. He describes kite boarding to be like dancing with a partner; the wakeboard is his partner. He moves at speeds from between 10 and 20 mph across the water in diagonal patterns with rise and fall motion like in dance and considers it to be a true extreme dance sport. He said, “Until you’ve done it, it’s hard to imagine the exhilaration.”

His training in ballroom began after moving to America, starting in New York, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Las Vegas. Teaching and competing for 12 years for the top studios, he has experience in a variety of school settings from franchised to independent.
Rachel is patient and enjoys teaching beginners! She attributes her love of dancing to her early appreciation of music from taking piano lessons. She fell in love with ballroom during a high school swing dance class. She has trained at A Step to Gold and at UNC- Chapel Hill and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from UNC- Chapel Hill in 2012. Rachel also loves dogs and when she was younger she trained her dog and competed in the sport of dog agility. Smart and sweet, Rachel is a wonderful contribution to our staff.
Kaitlinn started dancing when she could walk. Growing up, she studied tap, jazz, modern, and ballet and knew at a young age that she wanted to continue dancing her entire life. Attending Elon University in North Carolina, Kaitlinn was able to pick up ballroom dancing, competing and performing her way through college. She was the President of Elon’s Ballroom Club, and an active member of the competitive team, teaching the other students as much as possible. She graduated from Elon with a BFA in Dance Performance & CHoreography, a BA in Arts Administration, and a minor in Business Administration, followed by a year-long adventure in Australia with her fiance.
