Introduction to Social Dancing I
This class is for the beginner with "two left feet"
or no formal dance instruction. It begins with the very basic exercise
of walking to music and becoming aware of how to use your feet and
stand properly. Taking this class may begin the start of many years
of lots of fun in dancing.
We will work on the basic patterns in Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Rumba,
Cha Cha, and Swing, concentrating on essential elements to strengthen
your ability to dance with various partners which is great for building
confidence. NO

Introduction to Social Dance II
This class is a continuation of the previous 12-week course.
We will continue to work on Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Rumba, Cha Cha,
and Swing, concentrating on essential elements to strengthen your
ability to dance with various partners, which is great for building
confidence. NO PARTNER IS NECESSARY—PRIVATE LESSONS ARE AVAILABLE

Beginning
Latin Dancing
Come learn the hottest dances on the dance
floor! Latin dancing is very popular and you will be too if you can
master a few moves in the Salsa, Rumba, Cha Cha and Merengue. We feature
these dances at our Latin Dance once a month. Don’t be shy—this
one is designed with beginners in mind to be lots of fun!!!

Bronze I
This class is a continuation of the previous 12-week course.
We will continue to work on Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Rumba, Cha Cha,
and Swing, concentrating on essential elements to strengthen your
ability to dance with various partners which is great for building
confidence. Start learning dance routines to begin flowing around
the dance floor. By this time you should be comfortable enough to
ask someone you don’t know to dance.

Bronze II
This class will continue to expand on the Basics in all
six major dances. By this time you should be dancing with others
somewhat comfortably in Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Rumba, Cha Cha and
Swing. Now is the time to concentrate on essential elements to strengthen
your confidence and get a better grasp on the basic techniques like
posture, timing and footwork. NO PARTNER IS NECESSARY—PRIVATE
LESSONS ARE AVAILABLE
The
Classes taught by Melanie Dale be also be expanding on our knowledge
of Twinkles, and Syncopated Patterns in Foxtrot and Waltz and Learning
Variations of the Cross Body Leads in most all of the dances. |

Bronze
III
This class is working on an intermediate
level of Bronze and has been studying for 4 semesters. The USABDA
(amateur association) has adopted the ISTD syllabus which is the syllabus
we will be following for our work in this class. The six major dances
are still the subjects of this class. |

Bronze
IV
Working on a Bronze IV level. This class will be learning
promenade twist, cross body leads with turns, progressive twinkles
forward and back as well as Lindy timing in Swing, Forward and Back
Spot Turns and Left Side Pass to name a few of the approved ISTD Syllabus. |

Bronze IV/ Silver I
This class is working a beginning Silver or continuity style
dance. We will be concentrating on the approved ISTD syllabus adopted
by the USABDA (amateur ballroom association) as their official syllabus,
including the International Quickstep, Samba and Bolero. Most of these
students have been studying in group and private lessons. |

Country
Two Step
Ongoing beginner (mix of brand new and advanced beginner)
class in country-western two-step is offered at A Step to Gold with
our own resident country-western expert.
Class
works on basics as well as a new and inventive figure each week. Good
for those who are brand-new to two-step as well as those who want
to learn new figures and how to integrate them into your current dancing.
Emphasis is on lead-and-follow technique for fun social dancing!

Silver I Social Dance
This class will be finishing some of the Bronze IV Routines
and begin working on various dances chosen by the students and the
instructor. Most of the students in this class have been taking classes
for at least 2 years and have an understanding of proper footwork
and posture to maneuver around the floor comfortably with various
partners. |

Silver
II Social Dance
This class will be working on advanced steps in various dances
chosen by the students and the instructor. Most of the students in
this class have been studying in group and private lessons for over
5 years. |
